A quick blog to congratulate Arsenal and their win at this year’s FA Cup final at Wembley. A sad runner-up story for the Hull Team who was hoping for a first FA Cup final win in 110 years.
It was a thrilling game with 2 goals from the Underdogs Hull within 9 minutes, setting them in very good position for the win, but Arsenal kept their cool and knocked in their first goal a little while later. With just 1 goal between the two teams now and more than half the game to go this really was still anyones game.
Hull put up a valiant fight but when Arsenal scored their second goal it was at a stage in the game where Arsenal seemed to have that bit more steam that it would take for either team to pull out a winner. With a ridiculously near miss from Hull which kept the score 2 – 2 in Extra Time this one looked as if it was going all the way to penalties. Both teams looked sluggish in the heat and first half of Extra Time but with all or nothing to go in the second half both teams dug deep and truly gave their all for the win.
It was Arsenal who managed to pull out rabbit from the magic hat just in time in the second half of Extra Time and with a couple of other near misses set to clinch the title with minutes to spare they couldn’t quite pull of the security of another goal.
The final score 3 – 2 to Arsenal who took home the Cup to North London after a 9 year wait.
(I’m not an Arsenal or Hull fan)
